As he was in everything -- from "The Exorcist" to "Twelve Angry Men." He isn't, nor will ever be, a household name like Marlon Brando and Henry Fonda, but he deserves to be.

The man was the greatest character actor ever. It's not even close. The guy was amazing in every role he played.

Yes, indeed. Worked from the 1930s to the 1970s. Helluva career.

he was good in this and 12 but it seems he only had one mode: angry. Not a lot of range. I guess his outbursts were his trademark.
