Lord, I loved the fact that he was boasting about having a 'girl' in every port. Although revealingly, he does say later in the movie: "So much for my gay nightlife..." >>

Back then 'gay' meant happy or swell. A more PG way for saying sexy or hot. But yeah, I had my suspicions. Though I'd be a nice guy and just assumed he never had any action, ever.
