Magnificent Obsession soundtrack

Years and years ago, some friends and I shared the LP from the movie. We don't remember who had it last, but I think it the score was primarily Chopin.. Are there any classical musicians who may know the the specific compositions that were used?

I'm no expert in classical music but can assure you that Chopins work "Tristesse" is the dominant theme throughout the soundtrack !

You can actually still find the LP on Ebay. And being a crazy melo/Sirk lover, I bought it!

So here are the tracks:

1) Nocturne/Helen's Theme: Op. 27 No. 1 in C Sharp Minor, by Chopin

2) Etude/Love Theme: Op. 10 No. 3 in E Major, by Chopin

3) Etude/Playful Theme: Op. No. 10 No. 4 in C Sharp Minor by Chopin

4) "Ode to Joy"/Magnificent Obsession Theme (from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony)

5) "Vienna Life"/ Waltz (Helen and Bob's waltz), by Johann Strauss

And there you have it!

It was one of the most beautiful soundtracks that I know. Of course, I'm slightly prejudiced, because, Frank Skinner, the composer was my Uncle. He was not only one of the most talented musicians of the time, but definately one of the most liked and respected by his peers. I can't tell you how proud his hometown of Meredosia, Il felt about him, but as an Uncle, he was the BEST. Thanks for appreciating his talent.

I would like to find out the composition that is played quite a lot in this film. I've also heard it used for a documentary about the early days of the cinema. It's a very haunting plaintive tune.
