The mural of his wife (Liz Taylor) in a Parisian café haunts Van Johnson's character. But Liz's head in the mural doesn't quite fit her body, which is misshapen and somewhat anorexic. Better that Van remembers her by a wallet-sized photo.

"wallet-sized" in 1954? Not likely. (at least not at all common.)
