As far as I know 'Knock on Wood' has never been released by a studio on VHS or DVD - a great loss. In the past few weeks VHS copies have appeared a number of times on e-Bay - seller ID 'mytebyte1a' - I have no idea of how legal these copies are, or how good they are, but I constantly trawl the web for a decent copy and have never come across them elsewhere. Roan Group issued 'The Inspector General' on DVD ( maybe this is in the public domain ? ) mastered from 35mm - a good deal better than some from 16mm, and HBO have issued a number of Danny Kaye movies - but no sign of 'Knock on Wood'. There must be a market out there for a Danny Kaye set on DVD, authored from studio held origination - like you I wish someone would do it. After all we have had 'Tarzan' and 'Charlie Chan' sets !

Hi everyone, I have also been looking for this movie all over the web for a copy on either VHS but hopefully DVD. Is there any place where you can send in a request to a studio to release a certain video or not? Someone left a comment on the IMBD site stating that this wasn't in the class as the Court Jester, but I totally disagree. This movie has me in stitches everytime, another thing about this movie is that no matter how many times I have seen it, it always seems to be a long movie wherein most movies after the first time you've seen it, the end always seems to come a lot sooner than the first time. I have a VHS tape of the movie that I copied off of the BBC when I was stationed in England with the USAF. The copy is still good but it's in the PAL format and you need to have a PAL capable TV as well as a PAL type VHS recorder. If I could I would have had a friend copy this to a DVD already but I just can't. If anyone hears of this movie coming to DVD or VHS please email me at [email protected]. Thank You.

Likewise I have been searching for this movie for some time- I first saw it on tv but some time later when I contacted the station they said they no longer held the rights to it. SO WHERE DO WE GET IT??? Even MGM website doesn't even mention it , despite mentioning several other Danny Kayes. If a dvd becomes available then I'd appreciate knowing [email protected] . Thanks.

Is there any way for you to post your vhs copy to to a newsgroup or elsewhere on the net? PAL formats can be changed to other formats. If you can post your version tthe format issues can be be taken care of by others.
