Just saw this for he first time on TCM today. Totally kept my attention. Love old hollywood adventure movies. They always tend to keep moving and have twisting and turning plots that navigate with energy. Got to love the transitions from deserts to bright green countryside. Especially an English style castle on rolling green hills in the finale...in the holy land no less. Great actors, great fun.

I know what you mean. When the Templar-esque Castlaines (NOT "Castilians," as I used to think) are dispatched to guard a certain escape route for Sir Giles, King Richard (George Sanders) mentions that possibility to Saladin (Rex Harrison). And the latter replies with the best line in the whole movie (because he says it with such bloodthirsty eagerness).

"Even better!"
