Even worse than Plan 9?

As bad as steady Eddy Wood's opus, Plan 9 From Outer Space was, I think this film is worse!
I used to read snippets circa 1962 in Forry Ackerman's "Famous Monsters of Filmland" and wonder about this film.
I was rewarded(?) summer of 1963 when one of our local LA TV stations ran it. Even as a 12 year old I was laughing my ass off at it's incredible ineptness.
"What do you think of our little menagerie?" Ro-Man would be proud!
Fast forward to 2001/02. At the time, I had Adelphia Cable and on their public service channel they'd run this film, often 24/7!
Needless to say in January '02 I switched to satellite.
This film was so bad that it made Wood's stuff appear "charmingly inept". Eddie's films were BAD - but rarely boring.
KFS's budget was Gone With the Wind compared to Ed's but Eddy lives on while KFS has been relegated to the dust pan - where it belongs!
Don't worry Pete, you'll achieve "immortality" when you meet Roger Corman and Bert Gordon- but that's another story!

Plan 9 was more absurd and comedic but both were classically B-movies. Most 50s sci-fi movies are pretty similar.

reply

Actually no. There were some very literate 50's films in the genre and some that were just plain "entertaining". "Killers" is just a lame excuse for anything even remotely resembling entertainment.
May I suggest you give - and I'm serious here, "Teenagers From Outer Space" a try!
Really awful film but so damn compelling you can't stop watching it. Silly, absurd, cheesy acting - yet it works!

reply

I actually saw Teenagers From Outer Space on the same 50 movie set as I did Killers From Space. It's the perfect good bad movie.

Agreed!
"Teenagers" is so wonderfully inept - it works!
A friend of mine and I often work out "what if" scenarios for grade "Z" films.
Imagine from "Teenagers" if they worked things out with earthmen and opened a chain of "Gargon in the Box" fast food outlets. The mind boggles.

I remember seeing Teenagers From Outer Space on destroy all humans. Great fun!

Plan 9 may be stupid, but its hilarious to watch. I have it a 6/10 because of how much fun I had watching it.

Killers From Space is nothing more than a boring, drepped, poorly-done-everything, stock footage laden piece of crap that I would never want to watch again.

The only thing I remember about celestial Spider-Man is that he's...celestial. - Bruce Campbell

Agreed - okay?
