I just received this version a few days ago and it's by FAR the cleanest version of the movie I've ever seen. It's hard to believe someone remastered this somewhat obscure film but perhaps it's from a very clean 35mm print. I'd truly suspect it won't ever look better unless it gets a Blu-ray release.

This version is sold on DVD-R but the it's worth it to have a copy that looks this clean. I was starting to have doubts I'd ever get to see the movie look this decent. I wouldn't go as far as to say it looks perfect as far as DVDs go, but I'd give it close to 4 stars out of 5 (compared to about 2 to stars for the Alpha video version).

There is also a version out there which is listed as "Remastered". Avoid that one. (1 1/2 stars) I got it about a year ago and it looked worse then the Alph Video version. Look for the version that says "Restored"

Great cover art but it looks like the artist has confused Killers from Space for The War of the Worlds. Specifically the novel by HG Wells, not the 1953 film. Although the artist did draw four legs instead of just three.
