Not so bad
Okay, it IS bad, but I think not as bad as Ed Wood´s more known movies as "Glen or Glenda" or "Plan 9 from Outer Space". So, I can´t understand why it has less stars in the Imdb-rating than "Glen or Glenda".

shareI personally did not enjoy it as much as I did Glen or Glenda. It's all about entertainment value. They're all bad, it's just whichever one is more entertaining.
"Well I'll bet you'd stick you're head in the fire if I told you you could see hell."
I agree, Glen or Glenda is more entertaining- because it is funnier. But "Jail bait" has a linear plot and a point, that isn´t unclever, even though it´s unrealistic.
shareI know! Totally underated Ed Wood movie. I really love the story. More entertaining for entertainment sake than for camps sake. Even though some parts of the movie were pretty funny. This is very pre Nip/Tuck if you think about it.

I liked Glen or Glenda better.
He had a lot of courage to do that film. Insane courage.
I found this film to be an enjoyable piece of twadry film noir schlock. Steve Reeves' hopelessly stiff and wooden performance in particular was absolutely sidesplitting.
"We're all part Shatner/And part James Dean/Part Warren Oates/And Steven McQueen"
I don't think it's worse than other low budget 1940s/1950s crime films of it's ilk. It offers more than most of them did. But I found it quite boring for the most part. I like his other pictures much better.
shareI disagree; it's very, very bad. However; I had watched this movie as a child, and thought it was just fine. Perhaps, restricted to saturday matinees with an audience in the 10 to 13 year old range, stuff like this does just fine.
We need a new film age rating: 12 and under, for movies with terrible plots and acting. Adults not allowed without a child to accompany them.
