You can't help but wonder what happened when the real police showed up, given they knew WHY the police were coming, what it was about, and that they were all involved and how they were all involved. Think Mrs. Birling would still insist she did nothing wrong?

They'd have no choice but to go through the story over again, this time without complaints and without holding anything back. It would probably go a lot faster the second time around.

Faster no doubt, but hardly easier I think, except maybe for Eric and Sheila and maybe Gerald.

Definitely not easier, but they'd probably want to have it over and done with ASAP. Of course, the situation wouldn't end there. The story would get in the papers and they'd be ruined.
