Eric Knight wrote Lassie Come Home too

The reason it is Lassie Come Home with a horse is because Eric Knight wrote them both!

The horse is the very talented Beaut who also played Fury in the TV series among many other roles. An American Saddlebred stallion his registered name was Highland Dale

Technically, Eric Knight didn't "write" this because he had died long before it was produced. Martin Berkeley wrote it. It's a homage to LASSIE COME-HOME.
