I saw this for the first time on Movieplex. This is obviously not the real story. The entire damn thing is a cheesy romance, not a biopic! I'm not one for remakes, but this film should be remade-and tell the real story. Get somebody that looks like Glenn Miller and can capture his character really well. Have a disclaimer at the end that says something to the effect of: "No one knows what really became of Mr. Miller. It is surmised that his plane went down into the English Channel".

I don't think any of the movies back then were meant to be historical films. the Glenn Miller Story as well as the Benny Goodman Story were made to highlight their music more than anything else. If a person didn't see them live and didn't have a record collection this was the next best thing.

A realistic account of his life would not be a bad idea. I find it hard to believe that June Allyson would be like the real Helen Miller.

The film was cheesy as hell.

I have no idea how truthful it was.
