DVD Release finally!

This film will be released on DVD in the UK this month (Feb. '05) by Optimum. I am eagerly awaiting it!Optimum's track record isn't bad recently, they have recently released a lot of titles unavailable in the U.S. such as Young Mr. Lincoln and Drums Along the Mohawk, in the same month as Garden of Evil they are releasing Broken Lance, Broken Arrow, Warlock, and Western Union!!!! All great films and I intend to buy them all at some point but this will be the first.

........ just got the DVD of "Garden Of Evil" from Amazon.com UK .... it is listed as Region 2 but it plays in my Region 1 USA machine .... I decided not to wait for a USA Region 1 release ... When would that be ??? ... 2, 5 10 years from now.... I bought my copy from an Amazon seller and it was new and sealed and a little cheaper that buying directly from Amazon.... great film and I was happy it played on my regular DVD player .... I have bought a few other "Region 2" DVDs from Amazon directly and they play just fine in my Region 1 machine ... they really must be Region Free but are labeled Region 2 ... I only had one Region 2 DVD that would not play in my APEX AD 2500 ... that was "Green Ice" ... a notice pops up saying "wrong region" but that doesn't happen for the other Region 2 DVDs that I have. Hope this info is of some help. My APEX player plays both PAL and NTSC just not Region 2.

In view of the information that the Optimum Region 2 DVD can be played on Region 1 DVD players, people in the Region 1 area might be interested to know that the picture quality is good with vibrant colours. It is a "bare-bones" release with absolutely no "extras", but is a great DVD if you just want to watch the movie.

Hi,

I have a region 1 DVD player (a cheap one). I ordered it on ebay as an all region DVD player. It is a normal DVD region 1 that they give you a simple code to enter using the remote and it becomes all region. At one time, and they probably still do, people were selling the codes for about $5 on ebay. Different machines have different codes but they have codes for a slew of DVD players. It works great! I buy DVDs from anywhere now and they all play just fine.

Good Luck,

Cowboy Tom
