Some redeeming features

Just watched this and all I can say is we were easily entertained in the '50s. Redeemed only by the presence of gorgeous Maureen O'Hara and scenery - and some cars - nice new Series 1 LandRovers ("jeeps" in the film). But everything else including the plot (if you could call it that) was pretty blah. As a former O.S.S. operator I was surprised that Maureen's character ever survived the war. And in the days before Kevlar, Carey's character bouncing back from three .32 slugs in the chest from a metre away seemed unlikely. Maybe he had Ned Kelly's vest on underneath his shirt. But it was all good Saturday matinee fun and an interesting take on drug running in the '50s around the Mediterranean.

Agreed. As far as I'm concerned it's all about Maureen and the location filming was nice.

She played a damsel in distress, throughout the whole film, only to all of a sudden pull out a couple of judo moves to take out one guy at the end and then run another guy through. Funny stuff!

Not Kevlar, but the 2 British guys comment that he was wearing a bullet-proof vest.🐭
