Call me a heretic

but I like it better than the Stewart version. Murphy's really good, and the supporting cast of some great wonderful old, really appealing character actors, like Lyle Bettger, Edgar Buchanan, Mary Wickes, Wallace Ford, and Alan Hale Jr. can't really be beat.

as long as your paying for the fair........

I not only will not call you a heretic but I agree with you! The dance hall scenes, the barroom fight with the women..the performance of the mayor and the sheriff..and Audie Murphy being the absolute perfect choice for the role makes me side with you!

Thanks, Amikelhenry! I knew I couldn't be the only one!

Heretic

Although the film did look nice in colour.

It's that man again!!

I completely agree. I saw both versions back to back and the Audie Murphy version is better and as someone pointed out, Audie Murphy was the perfect choice. He was also a better Destry than Jimmy Stewart.
