There are no battle scenes or even minor action scenes. It's decidedly a historical costume drama. While Brando phoned-in his performance because he was pressured to do the role due to legal ramifications after walking off of the lead role in "The Egyptian," he well captures the brooding conquest-obsessed Emperor of France. Action fans should give it a pass, but anyone interested in behind-the-scenes politics & romances of Napoleonic history should appreciate it.
