Waxman's musical score - a brief 'note'

Great, stirring march-like main theme (and all the rest of the scoring as well).

But it struck me as very similar to the main theme of a much later film: The Right Stuff, scored by Bill Conti. One film about heroic martyrdom, the other about heroic space flight: two similar styles of scoring.
