DVD and Blu-ray coming 7/30/13
Cry Vengeance will be released on DVD ($24.95 retail) and Blu-ray ($29.95 retail) by Olive Films on July 30, 2013. Its first-ever homevid release. No extras.
shareIt's a good Blu-ray disc despite having no "extras". The picture and sound quality are better than is usual with Olive Films releases. The disc is Zone A locked.
Where this otherwise modest film really scores is building up tension in the audience as to what the tormented hero is going to do. Is he really going to murder the little girl? In this aspect it surpasses both The Big Heat and The Searchers.
Cry Vengeance deserves to find a new audience.
This disc is fine but Olive's releases are generally very well done. I don't understand why you think their other DVDs and Blu's aren't as good.
Two other quibbles if you will: Why "extras" in quotes? What else would you call such stuff? Bonus material, perhaps?
And I think you should have written "Spoiler" at the top of your post so that people who don't know the film don't have a key aspect of it ruined for them.
This isn't a great film but you're right that it deserves a new audience.
