You're too short for that gesture

Watching it, I felt like all the actors were telegraphing "Get me out of this turkey!" Steve Cochran in particular was never given a real chance in Hollywood, always relegated second level "bad guy" roles. The one movie I ever saw that gave him a change was in "Come Next Spring" with Ann Sheridan, playing a reformed drinker, come home to the farm to try and make it work with his wife, who is more than wary of letting him back into her heart. The guy could really act - another sad story of Hollywood.
