This board is so dead!

This is a pretty good movie with some good actors in it. I'm surprised there is not more activity on the board.

I agree, it certainly is a good film with adequate performances. An aspect of Broken Lance which I found interesting was the portrayal of Native Indians. They were not made to be the villains but rather characters we sympathised with. Yet at times it seemed contradictory as even though Matt loves his wife and respects her background he still refers to her as senorita, a term coined in order for people to think she was spanish.

I thought the wife looked familiar- she's Katy Jurado, who I remembered from High Noon (1952). Her being called senorita is not a stretch since she was born in Mexico.

LOL ...still dead here in 2022.

Just watched it (for the second time) this morning on the Movies! network. Forgot how good of a film this was.

I feel it was one of Spencer's finest performances.
