If Brigadoon had to be rewritten...

I would have Harry Beaton not assult anyone. Instead, I would set it that other townsfolk wrre leery of him because of his unrequited love... but have him try to go to the edge of town to live (not trying to end tge miracle, but honor everyone). During the wedding, townsfolk would gather near him, and assult him. They, in their zeal to end his feelings, cause the miracle to end due to their agression against charity. The old man admonishes them for their behavior against Harry, and Harry in his last act of charity within the community, goes out, and with tears still in his eyes makes the same prayer to God that the Pastor made. The miracle is again granted, and the town disappears before Harry's tearful eyes...

When the town appears again a hundred years later, a stranger approaches them, and introduces himself. It is a grandson of Harrys, and explains that Harry had worked tirelessly to create a better world for everyone should the miracle ever end again. That in his work, he met a gal with the same loneliness as himself, and helped her feel better after bandits had killed her family. She was this person's Grandmother.

This story would be a different tragedy for Harry Beaton, but would ultimately change him into a hero instead.

Brigadoon is Tommy Albright's story, not Harry Beaton's.
