'Disappearing forever' doesn't mean they all die ...

Does 'disappearing forever' mean a) they all die. b) the village and villagers remain forever in limbo. c) the village disappears leaving them all behind. I don't think (a) is correct because to say "one day you will disappear forever" is an odd way to say "one day you will die". This being the case then whats the problem. (b) shouldn't worry them, why should they care as long as they are happy. (c) would be a bummer but they would get by..
