Tax Trouble

I read somewhere that the reason Ladd made films in Europe at this time was the same reason that Clark Gable and others did- The US Tax Code. Tyrone Power was in bad tax trouble, made films in Europe and even moved to Spain.

I read in a Ladd biography that although he left an enormous estate and much valuable real estate, the IRS eventually hounded most of it away from his family (this sounds like an exageration but probably has some basis).
