did any one get a little hemingway 'the sun also rises' vibe from this movie? i mean with all the expats and debachery, the 'elusive, detached' woman, and the count's tinsy little impotency problem as a result of the war? just couldn't help but be reminded of the novel.

Yes, I was thinking Hemingway through a lot of the movie, and the Count's war injury was the topper.

Nobody gets to be a cowboy forever.
