I have seen this film before years ago and felt it really poor.
Saw it again today and still think it a bad example of British film.

I don't like anything about it,I am a huge fan of many British films of the 1940s and 1950s but this is bad,script makes you cringe,everybody is posh ,the special effects are poor even for that period and the script is unmoving and cliched.

I much prefer IN WHICH WE SERVE or THE WAY TO THE STARS

This film has perhaps the worst special effects of any WW2 movie I have seen ... and it is 90 minutes of nonstop hokey. It's only redeeming note is that it is authentic. Whatever 5/10.

It was the kind of film that should had been made in 1942, not 1952.

It's that man again!!
