I suppose I can understand Shirley's Booth's character never asking about Mr. Leslie's life during the 11 months of the year they didn't spend together, as it was an attractive aspect of her personality to Mr. Leslie. But it seems rather odd later on, when she's floored to discover he has a wife and sons. It seems the obvious reason for his secretiveness. Having said that I still loved this film.
shareI think that deep down, she knew that to be the case, but chose to not think about it. When she was confronted with reality in a way that she couldn't internally deny, it hit her quite hard.

shareShe mentions to herself that now she's seen her,knows what she looks like, talking about the wife, so it seemed as if she suspected it all along, which is the natural assumption one would have.
Such a sad movie, bittersweet and quite touching.
