Is the music available anywhere? I know there was a record released in 1963, but that only contained the song "Whale of a Tale" plus dialog from the film. I'd like to get the actual soundtrack music.

Unless you want to hunt down the original Vinyl album, the BEST way to get this music is off itunes!
They have an exclusive album there, with all the songs you love as well as 4 version of "A Whale of a Tale"!
It also comes with a booklet! Seeing as this will probably never come to CD, for 11.99 you can't beat this!

The soundtrack is, in fact, now available as an official Disney release on CD, remastered from the 1954 recording session stereo elements. It's a Disney/Intrada release, available at Intrada's website.

The man who wrote the lyrics to 'Whale of a Tale' has just died. Norman Gimbel. He was a clever songwriter. R.I.P.
