versions differences from Original

I recently rented the DVD and also imdb stated there is no other
versions. I saw this movie in 1954 in a test viewing.It appears to me the DVD
version has been cut by about 10 -15 minutes anyone else see that out there?
for example how did ned get out of jail? How did he get on the navy ship that was all in the oringal version.

On recent viewing, it did seem to me that the DVD was cut, but I am relying on awfully old memories (saw it in the theater in 1954). It's entirely possible my 7 year old mind just made up the "missing" parts.
