If anyone can help me out:
Movies from the 30's-60's with giant squid can't be limited to just 20000 Leagues? That would be a tragedy.
So if any of you film gurus could help me out with a recommendation or two, that would be great.
I beleive there is a black and white film, called beast from a thousand thathoms - i think.

IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA is a classic giant octopus movie.
shareVoyage to the Bottom of the Sea has a giant octopus attacking the sub.
shareHarryhausen's MYSTERIOUS ISLAND has a giant "nautilus" attcking.
Ian Fleming's novel DR. NO had a giant octopus in it (inspired by the Disney film!), but when the movie was made in 1962, they didn't have the budget for it...

'King Kong vs Godzilla' (1962) has a giant octopus attacking a native village and fighting with Kong.
'Deep Rising' (1998) has an enormous deep sea creature with lots of tentacles.

There was The Beast, but that was in 1996. In addition to the squid in Reap the Wild Wind, John Wayne fought an octopus in Wake of the Red Witch.
I'm not completely sure, but I think there was one in Below the Sea (1933) as well.
