Over-act much?

There's an episode where Betty (or as Jane Wyatt says "Butt-Hay"), where she takes on a mission to save the entire world from the massive deadly devastation of the mean old Mr. Emery's hedge. Was this directed by someone other than the usual director? I just wondered, because her acting is so over the that top it's disturbing. After all, it's only a hedge not a nuclear device.

Betty always took issues to the extreme, no matter what the cause was.

Her acting is over the top in every episode.

She probably ended up marrying a rich old deaf man so she could continue life as a shrew.

Betty was the epitome of the overreacting teenage girl she did it about everything.

The problem with the hedge was that it obstructed the view of any vehicles coming from that direction and nearly caused an accident. Although I do think Betty tended to over-dramatize things, this was a valid cause.

A few years ago the house at the east end of our road where it T's with a more heavily traveled road was sold and the new owners constructed a fence at the very edge of the property. It quickly became a problem because one couldn't see what was coming. I don't know if there were many accidents but not too long afterward the fence was moved in about two or three feet.
