Who remembers December Bride?

As a kid back in the early 60's, I can remember watching the reruns and loved them. I think they were on right before Pete and Gladys. I'd love to see them released on dvd.

I certainly remember December Bride, and I watched its reruns as a kid in the mid-1960s. I have almost a complete collection of this series..only missing about 20 of the 157 episodes. I am currently writing a biography of Verna Felton, who played Hilda on the show. As an appendix to her biography, I am including a detailed episode guide for this series. I am glad someone else remembers it fondly.

Wow, You do have alot of episodes. I'm an avid collector of old westerns & TV series, but I only have 88 episodes of December Bride. Do you know if anyone owns the rights or if it's in the public domain? If it is, I might be able to pick up more episodes. If you ever get the chance, maybe you could list the episodes you have & I'll see if I have some of the ones you're missing. Or just list the episodes you're missing. I've picked up most of mine on Ebay, but they don't come up often.

As far as I know this series is in the public domain, although VIACOM did own the rights in the 1980s, the last time I ever knew this show to run in syndication in Philadelphia and Seattle. Here are the eps I'm missing:
The Rich Man
New Year's Party
The Homecoming Show
The Engagement Show
Masquerade Party
The Old Man
Vallee's Protege (aka Crashing Hollywood)
The Photography Show
Army Buddy
The Bouncer Show
Sleep Teaching
Lily's Birthday Dress
The Zsa Zsa Gabor Show
Horse Phobia
Tough Mother-in-Law
Power Saw
The Post Office Show
Car for Christmas
Child of Nature
Lily's Blind Date
The Martian Show
THANKS FOR YOU INTEREST !! I look forward to hearing from you.

This series is NOT public domain. A quick check of the US Copyright Office website shows that even though this series has been off-the-air for many years, CBS still renewed the copyrights, along with "Pete & Gladys" and "Amos and Andy", two other series which have been off-the-air for decades yet had their copyrights renewed.

I hope you'll keep the board posted as to when the book comes out. Verna Felton was a great actress. She had such a dry, yet wonderful sense of humor. Remember her as Mrs. Porter on I Love Lucy? Have you written any other bio's?
You're lucky to have so many episodes - I'd love to see this released but have my doubts.

I fondly remember December Bride from reruns when I was a kid. I loved Spring Byington, and still do. I also watched Pete and Gladys, but had forgotten all about it...thanks for the reminder.
