DVD?

May-be Turner will be interested in releasing a DVD version as their VHS has sold out and is now out of print. This has been a favorite film since seeing it in 1953. Great cast, marvelous cinematograhy, excellent script and one of Miklos Rozsa's finest film scores.

I totally agree with you! This movie has been a favorite of mine from childhood on, and recently I found a copy of the book it was based on. It's really good as well, but I think the movie eclipses it in popularity. I haven't seen the movie in years, and would love to own it on DVD... Here's hoping!

DVD-R has now been released by Warner Archives. You can order at wbshop.com, and eventually at other online stores which sell this series.

YOUNG BESS is now available on DVD through Warner Brothers Archive Collection. While there are no extras and it hasn't been digitally restored it is a very nice copy taken from the best current transfer. This would be the print as it was shown on Turner Classic Movies. YOUNG BESS is finally available as a DVD as an offering from the Warner Brothers Archives Collection (wbshop.com) as a made on demand disc. Now many titles from the libraries of WB, M-G-M and RKO are available for purchase that have never been released before. The titles usually arne't restored but rather are the best current transfers of titles as they appear on Turne Movie Classics. In case of YOUNG BESS, it is a very nice copy. I was thrilled to finally be able to add this title to my collection as it is one of my all-time favorites.
