Criterion?

I'm praying for this Criterion release
But is it coming soon? In the works?

I'm praying, too
Only ONE Rossellini's film (the Flowers of st.Francis) has been released in Criterion Collection.

I hope that other great works of Rossellini could be released in CC.

Has anyone noticed ?

there has already several films of De Sica released in CC, but just 'ONE' of Rossellini released, I don't even know why???
(Don't misunderstand, I am not saying anything bad about De Sica!)

Besides, I think both Germany Year Zero and Roma open city should deserve CC release.

In one of the Criterion newsletters they gave a hint that they might be releasing some of Rossellini's historical films. On their newsletters they have this small cartoon giving a hint to their future release. Like they once had this image shaped like a ticket saying, "Take a 15 hour tour through Berlin!" which is of course a reference to the now on sale Berlin Alexanderplatz.

This cartoon said something like take a bull session this fall with Descartes, Socrates, Blaise Pascal and others. And Rossellini made movies on all three of them. I'm hoping one of the others would include Giuseppe Garibaldi and Louis XIV.

If not Criterion, someone should gather the complete films which Rossellini made with Ingrid Bergman or the like. The rights issues might be a headache, I suppose.

Happily, this became a reality. 3 Films by Roberto Rossellini Starring Ingrid Bergman was released by Criterion on Blu-ray. The DigiPack includes Journey to Italy, Stromboli, and Europe '51.

Right now, Barnes & Noble has a 50% off Criterion sale. If you buy it online, you get free shipping. Enter the promo code 4C5F6K2W4LFFX at checkout to get an additional 15% off one item (good through November 22nd). Quite a good deal.
