Finally saw this

Not quite sure why it's taken me so long, but finally saw it. Visually, it's stunning. The direction is brilliant, the acting is subtle and everything works, but then....and this is where everyone is going to disagree, the ending. The ending simply doesn't fit with the rest of the movie. Yes, for Americans it does, but the ending just didn't feel like a Japanese movie. The artistic beauty of the finale is without question, remarkable. I just felt as if this film's end was made for a non-Japanese audience.
