I found this film to be genuinely funny

I recently saw this film after recording it off of TCM. I had heard about it online and it seemed pretty intriguing. The first thing that struck me about this quirky little movie is how genuinely funny and contemporary the humor in it seemed. Being only 28-years-old, I am accustomed to a slightly different brand of humor than what you would normally find in a typical comedy from the 50's. However, The Twonky had some great laugh-out-loud moments for me. William H. Lynn is hilarious as Coach Trout (sadly his final role). Any time he was on screen, I was smiling. Also, the anti-television and media brainwashing themes seemed very modern. While I can see how film aficionados would turn their nose up at The Twonky, I encourage all fans, young or old, of zany, b-movie fare to check it out for some good laughs.

I'm considerably older than 28, but I always loved "The Twonky". And it is up-to-date about how TeeVee takes over the lives of those who "own" a TeeVee . . .

I wonder why it isn't a cult classic. And why it isn't available on DVD.
