Widescreen? TCM?

I've seen TV recordings in 4x3 format. Original was 1.66 wide. Turner Classic Movies has a policy of showing films in original aspect.
Don't know if has been shown that way. TCM has it listed in their database but probably never aired it.
I'm in Canada and could use a trading contact if something happens, and it's not on DVD.

The master has been prepared for a 3D disc but held back due to low expectations. Find a way to petition the studio. Was Paramount.
I don't need 3D personally.
