Jump The Shark

The landing in North Africa has to be a prime example of Jump The Shark -

What Jump The Shark mean to you and how does it relate to the North Africa landing.
I know that Jump The Shark is from an episode in Happy days and that it means that the series writers have fun out of ideas relating to the original plot of the series and are taking things to extremes to save the series. But the N. Africa landing in Beat the Devil is within the scope of the plot line and characters.

OK - maybe I missed something - perhaps you can tell why you feel it is relevant and consistent with the plot etc. - and not 'jumping the shark' - ?

The film was a satire of the whole internstional adventure/criminal genre. In that genre the characters often find themselves washed up on a hostile beach either figurativly or as in this film literally. So, this was a necessary part of the satire.

At any rate, it was hilarious especially when Robert Morley is explaining how they came to be there. Whether of not it was Jumping The shark, it worked for me.

Hey - there's no problem - some people like watching the shark jump - To Each His Own - actually one could make a movie called that.

robfwoods-

How is it jumping the shark when it's satire?

Thanks for the post

I've now watched the film for the first time!! Excellent!

I have NO IDEA what my posts were - I can only think someone hijacked my account - and also the words - as they are words I may well have used if the situation would have been relevant to them.

A big mystery to me!!!!!!
