Jennifer Jones was so annoying...
I wished Bogart would punch her teeth in already.
shareJennifer Jones is always annoying. I think I've never seen a movie with her in which i didn't want her to just leave the screen...
For me, she's the definition of annoying brat in movies, followed by Elizabeth Taylor, but even her dosen't come close.
"You're not a real actor in this business until you've played a bitch. Or a psychopath killer."
"Even her doesn't come close"? Try English.
shareWell, try to speak French or Spanish. Not everyone is blessed with English as their first language.
As you might notice, I made a lot of progress in English since I wrote the previous message, so, in a way, I already followed your kind advice.
I leaned on the wall - the wall leaned away.
I apologize.
shareAre you kidding? I saw this movie last night and just adored her. Her character was funny, when she claims the crooks are desperate characters because not one of them looked at her legs I couldn't help but chuckle. Then there was the chess game and she kept beating her husband while keeping a conversation with Bogey's character and barely even paying attention to the game. She might've been cooky and carried a tinge of Monroe-isms, but she bounced off well against Bogart.
shareI completely agree with you Junio and so did the film critics. Many of them were surprised that Jones had she a unique character in her and it greatly enhanced their respect for her acting ability. She was just perfect as everyone else in this remarkable film.
shareThis is one of only two films where I liked Jones.
As for annoying, her husband wins the prize in that category - hands down.
"I don't drink, I don't smoke - two out of three ain't bad" - Bob Crane
I agree. This is one of the few films where I enjoyed her performance.
In most cases I find her terribly affected and annoying.
She's terrific. Quite attractive and a very nice performance. Gina of course is smoking!
shareI loved her. I thought she was the best thing about the movie.
shareMr Peterson: "GOOD MORNING, MRS. CHELM - let's hope she breaks her neck!"
I agree that she was the best thing about this movie and I am not normally a fan. Selznick, who controlled her career, should have let her play more fun roles. She really seems to be having a good time with the character and runs rings around the normally very dependable Bogey (who hated the film) who looks pallid.
shareI found her very appealing! I thought she was adorable.
