Someone remembers this one? Wow!

The negative review aside, how can I not like to see even a reference to what was a fantastic movie to me when I watched it on TV after school in 1964!! What else could a boy who spent many an afternoon playing war want? I'd like to get a copy of it just because...

I REMEMBER THIS MOVIE WHEN I WAS A KID AND IT REMAINS THE MOST REMEMBERED MOVIE OF MY YOUTH(iDON'T KNOW WHY) MAYBE BECAUSE IT INVOLVES A TANK, AND NOW THAT I'M IN MY 50'S MY HOBBY IS MILITARY JEEPS! CAN I GET A COPY?

I've been trying to remember the title or see this movie for the last 30 odd years. It stuck in my head (like you)when i was about 6 or 7 years old. "fatso" (on another thread) told me the title. I always thought it was called the "Iron Maiden". pretty close.

Oh my god, finally someone has given me a name for this movie. I remember seeing it on channel 9 out of NYC on the Million Dollar Movie and a kid of 7 or eight. I'd love to get hold of a copy since I can't locate it on any of the rental sites.

I remember this one too. In fact I stayed home sick from school once to watch it. I may have seen this film three time as a kid. They used to run movies in the afternoons back in the 60s and 70s. Oh how things have changed. It was this movie and "Sole Survivor" w/Vince Edwards that I had a heck of a time remembering the titles. Thanks to the internet these questions were answered.

I saw this on the toob back in the 60's and probably will never see it again. It was good escapist fun.

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

There's something memorable about The Steel Lady that I can't put my finger on. It should just be a generic programmer, an adventure film set in the desert featuring a tank, and yet it stays with you. I just watched it again on a digital channel and loved it. Maybe the dialogue could have been better, the characters more fleshed out; and yet there wasn't a wasted moment in the entire film. The desolate, forbidding and yet strangely beautiful setting and small cast were assets, keeping the viewer focused on the action, while the desert was itself as much an enemy for the main characters as the Bedouins.
