Alternate Version Info?

I've just watched the edited version under the title "Indiscretion of an American Wife". Whilst I agree with some of the other comments here in admitting it is far from being a perefect film, I nevertheless found it had a strange charm and attraction to it.

I'm very interested in seeing the original full-length cut of the movie. I realise there is a fair amount of difference in terms of the running time but the 'Alternate Versions' sections has little in the way of detail concerning the changes. Can someone here shed any light on what was actually omitted and changed from the original to the US version?

Buy the Criterion version of the film and you'll get both versions.

or.... before buying, check out your local library to see if they have it! Most major city libraries have extensive videos and movies available. I just checked and both versions are available on one DVD at my local library. I can get it for a week FREE!
