I saw this tonight for the first time.

I liked it. Not a "classic" by any means but it makes for perfect viewing on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Lots of funny bits with Lancaster(hilarious in this). Virginia Mayo serves as a great piece of eye candy. Also features a nice action sequence towards the end when Chuck Connors sacrifices himself to take out the Japanese destroyer. Don't expect any heavy drama here though as it's a very light-hearted picture.
