I saw this on the big screen at the Barbican last night, part of their Bergman Directorspective, and there was an after-show interview with Harriet Andersson. Still very beautiful, lively and sexy; I started to say to my partner, I hope I look as good as that when I get to her age, then thought, dammit, I already don't look as good.

It's like watching Lauren Bacall. These women are from before anyone informed us not smoking two packs a day prolongs youthful looks. Like Lauren Bacall in To Have and Have Not, Harriet Andersson is so intriguing in this that if i got to kiss her tonight; tomorrow I would only remember the sensation of being close to something transcending.
