The remaining of love?

I would like to open an idea/thought/question.
He is in love. That's obvious. She doesn't love him.
But the interesting thing is he endure even after an attempt to kill himself and can continue with his life.
He always tried to protect her when they were together.
At first he didn't want a career for her on movies.
But to me, he then seek serious roles for her. Artistic roles.
Make her better in a way. That's pure adoration.
They split and that idea, it develops in her.
She tries to reach it, but at the end that desire is broken.
Such a sad end.
Ex lovers still can affect you, their ideas echoes in you.
But maybe i'm wrong. Maybe this whole text makes no sense.
