Happiest Ending ... Not Quite (Alert)

I was relieved that this film did not end with the world's schmaltziest ending (Saville was Brown's father ... and a passionate reunion at the two lovers at medal ceremony). I was kept thinking come on this is a war film ... let's not go full tilt soap opera here! Heck we don't even know that Brown's Mom is even the Lucinda. Nice twist!
