New restored DVD of Original Russian version!

A recent IMDB review just alerted me to this. I searched around a little, and found it over here: http://www.ruscico.com/detail.php?lang=en&film=94#ZOOM

You know, I can imagine that the director's son would not be too happy about Francis Ford Coppola! This was kinda the equivalent of taking "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves", re-editing it entirely and adding pop music and bad voices to the soundtrack.

It would be funny, sure, but you wouldn't want it to be the version you show to someone who hasn't seen the original film...

In any language it is still rubbish.

Even the guys from MST3K had respect for the original film. It's one of my favorite episodes of the show because not only is their riffing funny, but the visuals are actually very well done and pleasing to the eye imho, especially given when it was made.

I wouldn't mind seeing the original.
