Original music score for PROJECT MOON BASE

Herschel Burke Gilbert's inventive original soundtrack for PROJECT MOON BASE has been released on CD by the Monstrous Movie Music label. This early fifities sci-fi score was one of the first to feature the electronic Theremin, which was also heard in ROCKETSHIP X-M, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, and IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE. The CD also contains the complete score from Gilbert's OPEN SECRET, a wonderful 1948 film noir whose music score provided many librayr cues heard in the first season of George Reeves' TV show ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN. The release includes a liner book with extensive notes about both films, and star Donna Martell contributed to the research used to write the notes.
