Is This a British Tale?

I'm confused about where this story came from. I think the narrator mentioned that the Darling family lived in London, but Peter Pan and the lost boys had an American accent. Do you suppose that the boys in Neverland were from America?

"Tsuppari is my former name."

Come on. Pinocchio took place in Italy, and Geppetto and Stromboli were the only ones with an accent.

Yes this is a British Tale but because this is an American made movie they gave Peter and the lost boys American accents. And pretty much every adaptation since has followed suit. Mostly because the Disney version is the one that's largely in the public conscious. The 2003 movie got it close with Peter being the only one who had an American accent and they explained that with Peter being other worldly and standing out from the others.

From now on I speak my mind and I bow down to no one.
