Reminds me of

This reminds me of Sunday In New York, made ten years later in 1963 with Jane Fonda and Dana Andrews.

Same theme, and the protagonist was able to admit that she really wanted to get laid. (Of course, we are to understand they were married later and lived happily ever after with a bunch of kids.)

Saw it today, and I thought the same thing ! Specially as the main title's song specifies it happens on a Sunday... and in New York of course.

HI,

It was actually Rod Taylor...not Dana Andrews.

Cheers.

Yep, you are so right! I knew that, but my brain keeps mixing those two actors up. Thank you for the correction! :)

I hadn't seen The Moon is Blue for at least 35 years and it's frankly tedious. It doesn't hold up, the sophistication is dated, and Maggie MacNamara, once so charming seems to deliver every line the same. Furthermore, neither Niven or Holden is especially clever. We've seen them both give the same performance before.
I have lost interest in this thing. Give me Jane Fonda in Sunday in New York any time. That's a lot more fun!
