Forbidden Planet.
I think they mean "King Solomon's Mines" ('50). "Forbidden Planet" had an electronic musical track. Don't know if you'd call it scored or not, but it supported much of the film.

shareI guess A BETTER DAY never responded. One I can add is the 1931 film version of Eugene
O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night" which also featured Clark Gable. There may be several other early talkies which similarly had no music.
Actually, one of the pleasures of watching this movie is that it doesn't have a scored musical soundtrack. Instead it relies solely on the ambient noise of African native music: singing, dancing, chanting, and drums. Don't know if it's totally authentic, but it sure sounds authentic - and sounds good every time I watch this film.
