internet research reveals that "The Man From the Alamo" "purported to tell the story of Louis Rose, who refused to cross Travis' line and fled the Alamo before its fall, but the Hollywood went its own unhistorical way. In the film, the Rose character is named John Stroud from a fictional town of Oxbow."

One man on horseback escaping from the siege and not being cut down by the Mexican Army? What do you think?

reply

Actually, several messengers on horseback got through the Mexican lines. James Butler Bonham not only got through to deliver a message but also got through to return to the Alamo where he was killed. So Glenn Ford's character getting out is believable. But that six-shooter strapped to his side several decades before they were invented is not.
